A$AP Rocky confirms his relationship with Rihanna, says she’s ‘the one’
American rappers A$AP Rocky has for the first time opened up about his relationship with singer Rihanna. In an interview to GQ magazine, the rapper for the first time confirmed that he is indeed in a relationship with the ‘Umbrella’ singer and called her the love of his life.
The 32-year-old rapper – born Rakim Athelaston Mayers – gushed that Rihanna is “the one” for him. Rumours of the two dating started years before they went public in November 2020 although the two so far kept mum about their relationship.
“Its so much better when you got the one. She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones. I think when you know, you know. Shes the one,” he told the magazine.
The L$D performer said he felt a sense of belonging when he went with the Love on the Brain singer to visit her family in Barbados around Christmas.
Rocky was born in New York but his late father also hails from the island nation where Rihanna grew up.
“It was like a homecoming thing. It was crazy. I always imagined what it would be like for my dad before he came to America. And I got to visit those places, and believe it or not, there was something nostalgic about it. It was foreign but familiar,” he recalled.
While the couple spent their quarantine doing a quintessential road trip across the country on a bus, Rocky is thinking ahead to his future now.
He said he thinks hed be a great father when the time is right. "If thats in my destiny, absolutely," he replied when he was asked whether he wants to have children.
Rocky added, “I think I`d be an incredible, remarkably, overall amazing dad. I would have a very fly child. Very.”
The Praise The Lord rapper was previously linked to Iggy Azalea and Chanel Iman, while Rihanna dated Chris Brown, Drake and Hassan Jameel.

At the time, the couple shared a sexy social media post confirming their romance.
Before confirming their relationship to the public eye at the Met Gala, The Sun exclusively revealed they were dating since April 2017.
The supermodel and rapper — whose real name is Rakim Mayers — were first snapped partying together in Paris in June 2016.

Although the pair hadn’t publicly confirmed their romance until now, fans first speculated a connection was brewing when they attended the YAMS Day Benefit Concert in Brooklyn together in January 2020.
Rihanna had reportedly ended her relationship with longtime boyfriend Hassan Jameel just days before fueling the rumors.
Although they had been friends for years, US Weekly reported that ASAP had been swooning over the Umbrella singer for a while.
The site’s source said Rihanna “would brush off his advances and kept him in the friend zone.”

But things started to heat up between the two last summer and Rihanna even featured ASAP in her Fenty Skin Campaign.
The Goldie rapper also spent Christmas with her family in Barbados.

A$AP Rocky has revealed that he is in a relationship with fellow hitmaker Rihanna.
The American rapper, 32, made it clear that he and the Umbrella musician, 33, are in for the long-haul as he gushed about his love for the Bajan beauty and admitted that she is the ‘love of his life.’
A$AP Rocky - who was first linked to Rihanna in 2013 after he worked with her on her tour - remained tight-lipped on the timeline of their relationship timeline as he declared his strong emotions for the singer during an interview with GQ.
When asked on how his life has improved with the pop sensation by his side, he shared: “So much better.
“So much better when you got the One. She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones.”
Declaring his deep commitment to Rihanna, he added: “I think when you know, you know. She’s the One.”
A$AP Rocky - real name Rakim Mayers - also hinted that he is looking ahead to the future and becoming a father and told that he is keen to become a parent, as he shared: “If that’s in my destiny, absolutely.”

In December, fans speculated that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were more than friends when they were pictured in Barbados together.
Photos showed the rapper placing an affectionate hand on the singer and businesswoman’s shoulder, while others showed the pair looking very cosy.
Further snaps showed the couple getting their adrenaline pumping as they pursued thrills on the ocean while taking part in water sports.
