‘House of Gucci’ Posters Unveil Jared Leto’s Shocking Transformation Opposite Gaga, Driver

]

Yes, that’s Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci in Ridley Scott’s new movie.

As fans continue to wait for MGM to debut the official “House of Gucci” trailer, the studio has gone ahead and premiered the first set of character posters from Ridley Scott’s upcoming murder drama. A first look photo had previously dropped of Lady Gaga and Adam Driver in character as Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci, which means the new batch of posters provides the first look at Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci, Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci, and Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci. Leto appears under prosthetics in what is the actor’s latest unrecognizable film transformation.

Written by Roberto Bentivegna and based on the Sara Gay Forden book “The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed,” Scott’s upcoming film casts Gaga as Patrizia Reggiani, who was convicted of orchestrating the assassination of her ex-husband and former head of the Gucci fashion house, Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver). Reggiani served 16 years in prison for the crime. The ensemble cast also includes “Stillwater” actress Camille Cottin as Paola Franchi, plus Jack Huston, Salma Hayek, and Reeve Carney.

After the first look photo from “House of Gucci” was released earlier this year, Patrizia Gucci, the great-grandchild of house founder Guccio Gucci, released a statement to The Associated Press condemning the project. One of the biggest concerns Patrizia Gucci has with Scott’s new film is the casting of Al Pacino and Jared Leto as Aldo and Paolo Gucci, respectively. As the Gucci heir said, “My grandfather was a very handsome man, like all the Guccis, and very tall, blue eyes and very elegant. He is being played by Al Pacino, who is not very tall already, and this photo shows him as fat, short, with sideburns, really ugly. Shameful, because he doesn’t resemble him at all.”

As for Leto, Patrizia condemned the set photos revealing the Oscar winner’s “unkempt hair and a lilac corduroy suit” as Paolo. “Horrible, horrible,” she said. “I still feel offended.”

“House of Gucci” is one of two new Scott films arriving this fall. Scott’s “The Last Duel” is set to world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September before debuting in theaters October 15. “House of Gucci” is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 24 via United Artists Releasing (the distribution arm of MGM).

House of Gucci Trailer and Posters Debut

]

MGM and United Artists Releasing have revealed the trailer and character posters for House of Gucci, opening in theaters on November 24, 2021. You can watch the trailer using the player below and you’ll find the full posters underneath.

Directed by Ridley Scott, the anticipated film stars Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons and Al Pacino.

The film is inspired by the shocking true story of the family empire behind the Italian fashion house of Gucci.

Spanning three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately murder, we see what a name means, what it’s worth, and how far a family will go for control.

Ridley Scott directed the film from a screenplay by Becky Johnston and Roberto Bentivegna.

The cast also includes Salma Hayek, Camille Cottin, Jack Huston, Mãdãlina Ghenea, Reeve Carney, and Youssef Kerkour.

The producers include Ridley Scott, Giannina Scott, Kevin J. Walsh, and Mark Huffam. The music is by Harry Gregson-Williams.

The film comes from production companies Bron Creative, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Scott Free Productions.

The movie features Lady Gaga as Patrizia Reggiani, Adam Driver as Maurizio Gucci, Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci, Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci, Salma Hayek as Giuseppina “Pina” Auriemma, and Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci.

Jack Huston plays Domenico De Sole, Camille Cottin portrays Paola Franchi, Mădălina Diana Ghenea stars as Sophia Loren, and Reeve Carney is Tom Ford.

The movie is based on the book by Sara Gay Forden. It is officially described as follows:

On March 27, 1995, Maurizio Gucci, heir to the fabulous fashion dynasty, was slain by an unknown gunman as he approached his Milan office. In 1998, his ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani Martinelli–nicknamed “The Black Widow” by the press–was sentenced to 29 years in prison, for arranging his murder.

Did Patrizia murder her ex-husband because his spending was wildly out of control? Did she do it because her glamorous ex was preparing to marry his mistress, Paola Franchi? Or is there a possibility she didn’t do it at all?

The Gucci story is one of glitz, glamour, intrigue, the rise, near fall and subsequent resurgence of a fashion dynasty. Beautifully written, impeccably researched, and widely acclaimed, The House of Gucci will captivate readers with its page-turning account of high fashion, high finance, and heart-rending personal tragedy.

HOUSE OF GAGA TRAILER AND POSTERS

Who is Maurizio Gucci’s killer Benedetto Ceraulo?

]

ITALIAN businessman and fashion tycoon Maurizio Gucci was gunned down in 1995 - the result of a sinister and terrifying plot to take the millionaire out.

The one-time head of the Gucci fashion house was just 46 years old when he was tragically murdered by hired hitman Benedetto Ceraulo.

Who is Benedetto Ceraulo?

Benedetto Ceraulo was a pizzeria owner, who shockingly turned to contract killing after struggling with debts.

Ceraulo’s pizzeria was reportedly struggling, which, combined with his supposed love of gambling, had left the Italian desperate for a cash injection - enough to turn to contract killing.

In March 1995, Ceraulo shot Maurizio Gucci dead in the marble foyer of his office in central Milan.

Three years later, Ceraulo was handed a life sentence for his part in the plot.

Why did Benedetto Ceraulo kill Maurizio Gucci?

Down on his luck, Ceraulo was willing to listen when Maurizio Gucci’s ex-wife approached him with a sinister proposal - and more than £200k (€300,000) in cash.

Patrizia Reggiani married Gucci in 1972, but just over ten years later, the fashion heir abandoned his wife.

In 1985, Gucci told Reggiani that he was going away on a short trip - but he never returned to the family home.

Instead, he ran off with a younger woman, interior designer Paola Franchi, who would go on to become his live-in girlfriend.

In 1991, Gucci and Reggiani finally divorced, leaving Patrizia with a hefty yearly alimony settlement of nearly a million pounds.

But the money didn’t seem to be enough, and - according to prosecutors - Patrizia still felt angry, jealous and resentful towards her ex.

Hungry for revenge, Patrizia sought out Ceraulo, and in 1995, the two made a horrific deal.

Having also hired a doorman, a getaway driver, and even a sorceress, Reggiani set her murderous plan into action.

But she wouldn’t get away with it.

In January 1997, less than two years after the slaying, the whole ruse came tumbling down, leading to the arrests of Reggiani, Ceraulo and their co-conspirators.

Reggiani was convicted of organising the murder, and sentenced to 29 years of hard time.

Where is Benedetto Ceraulo now?

Ceraulo is still locked up to this day, but that’s not true of everyone involved in the killing.

Patrizia appealed her lengthy sentence in 2000, successfully getting it cut down to 26 years.

Then, after serving just 18 years behind bars, Patrizia was released in 2016.

Shockingly, the so-called “Black Widow”’ is still receiving money from the Gucci fortune, after a court ruled in 2017 that she was entitled to $1million (£900,000) every year from her ex-husband’s money - on top of a lump sum of $22million (£16m) for her time spent in jail.

Now, the tale of cold-blooded murder is set to hit the big screen.

Acclaimed Director Ridley Scott’s new film The House of Gucci will be released in the UK on November 26, 2021, and will see Oscar-winners Lady Gaga and Adam Driver step into the shoes of the Black Widow and her victim.
