Chanel the parrot became a viral sensation last year after she went missing - leading to her owner screaming her name in the street in a bid to find her.
The African grey disappeared in Liverpool during lockdown last year, leaving owner Sandra Hannah distraught.
Chanel did safely return home a short while later but now history is repeating itself and the bird has managed to escape again.
Sandra appeared on Monday’s This Morning with hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford after sharing Chanel had gone missing over the weekend.

She was instantly overcome with emotion as she discussed the parrot and how she managed to get away.
“She was out of her cage but she was upstairs,” Sandra recalled. “It had been raining all day and my son just wanted to play out on his bike so I went out to get the bike, shut the door behind me and was waiting for him in the street and he came out straight after me and left the door open and I didn’t check and she just flew out.”
Eamonn and Ruth tried to console a tearful Sandra, reminding her that Chanel was found safe and well last year.
“Yes but the last time she was found the next day, but this is the third day now,” Sandra said in response.

“I just don’t know where she’ll be.”
Explaining what to do if people do come across her, Sandra said: “She’s so tame and she’ll be so scared now and will just try and get anywhere safe.
“If anyone sees her then take a picture as we’ve been driving around everywhere.
“Just take a picture, shout her name and hold out your arm and she’ll come on you.”

Sandra added: “She’s like my fifth child but for three years it’s just been me and her every single morning, I have my coffee before everyone gets up.”
Taking to social media over the week, Sandra shared a video where she said: “I’m so sorry. It’s not a joke, I need your help again. Chanel flew off again. Please, she definitely went on the canal somewhere.
“I don’t know what to do but if anyone sees her, you know what she’s like. She’ll be scared. She’s gone. She just flew off.”

Owner Sandra has been left distraught yet again after her pet escaped from her home.
Chanel, the African Grey parrot, has gone missing again, over a year after she famously flew away.
The parrot’s owner, Sandra, has pleaded with people in the Liverpool area to keep an eye out for her beloved pet.
Sandra went viral in April of last year after a video of her shouting after Chanel, who had flown away, was viewed online millions of times.

In a video posted on her social media, Sandra explained that the African Grey had flown off again, explaining: “Chanel flew off again.
“Please, she definitely went on the canal somewhere… I don’t know what to do but if anyone sees her, you know what she’s like.”
She apologised to her followers for “doing this again”, but that she “feels sick” with worry.

Sandra appeared on This Morning, where she told hosts Eamonn and Ruth about Chanel’s latest escape.
Breaking down in tears, Sandra explained that Chanel escaped after her son left the door to the house open.
She said that she saw Chanel fly towards the canal, which they live very close to.
Through tears, Sandra explained that she was so worried about the parrot as back in April 2020, she returned home a day later, whereas this time it has been three days with no sign of her.

She told Eamonn and Ruth: “She’s so tame and she’ll be so scared now.
“She’ll just be wanting to get anywhere safe. If anyone sees her, take a picture because we’ve been driving around everywhere because we’ve had so many false things.
“Just take a picture, shout her name and put your hands out, she’ll come on you.”
Followers of Sandra are hoping for a safe return for Chanel, who was found only two miles from her home last time she took off.

Appearing on This Morning today, an emotional Sandra broke down in tears as she explained to presenters Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes how her African grey parrot has escaped again.
‘Well, she was out of her cage but she was upstairs,’ explained Sandra. ‘It’d been raining all day, and my son just wanted to play on his bike.’

Ruth went on to ask Sandra whether she saw her fly over her head and knew what direction she had flown away in.
‘Yeah, she went towards the canal again because we live right next to it,’ she explained.
Noting they could see that Sandra was visibly upset, Ruth and Eamonn attempted to comfort her by saying that Chanel came home last time so not to ‘give up hope.’
‘But last time she came home it was the next day and this is the third day now and I just don’t know where she’ll be,’ replied a devastated Sandra.

Ruth went on to ask that if anyone was to come across Chanel, how should they go about capturing her.
‘She’s so tame and she’ll be so scared now,’ said Chanel. ‘She’ll just be wanting to get anywhere safe. If anyone sees her, take a picture because we’ve been driving around everywhere because we’ve had so many false things.

Eamonn also asked Sandra to explain the circumstances in which Chanel went missing last time in the hope that it could perhaps be replicated this time round and bring the African grey parrot to safety.
‘She just knocked on someone’s window saying hello and they were like, “that’s a bird,’ explained Sandra. ‘She was just trying to get in somewhere safe. So I’m hoping she’s trying to get somewhere safe.’

‘They just put their hand out and she came to them.’
While Sandra was evidently devastated by Chanel’s disappearance, Ruth asked how the rest of her family were coping.
‘They’re all heartbroken,’ she explained. ‘She’s like my fifth child but for three years it’s just been me and her every single morning. She just sits on my shoulder while I have my coffee before anyone gets up. She even shares her coffee with me and tries to get in my cup.’
Noting the empty cage behind Sandra as she appeared on the ITV show via video link from her home, Eamonn suggested maybe leaving it outside to attract her.
‘It has been,’ said Sandra. ‘It’s been outside for three days.’

Sandra previously spoke to Mail Online when footage of her pleading for the world to find her missing parrot first went viral.
‘We were sitting in the garden, all the doors were locked in the cage but her water bowl gate was open,’ Sandra told the MailOnline.
‘My neighbour started a drill going and she just bolted out the water bowl gate.
‘And I just thought what should I do? I thought I would share it on Facebook Live.’
Sandra insisted that it was ‘traumatic’ as she waited for a response from the video which was seen by over 40,000 people on Facebook alone.
‘We all cried all night. We were all saying a prayer, please come home Chanel. We were just all devastated.

‘As soon as the light come up we were all out on the canal searching.’
Thankfully the mother of four’s parrot was found just over two miles from Sandra’s home.
‘On facebook, someone said: “I found your parrot”. She was knocking on a window in Seaforth saying “hello, hello ,hello”. I didn’t know the person, I didn’t even have her on Facebook.
‘If it wasn’t for Facebook I don’t think I would have found her. It was the worst day of my life, the worst.’

Sandra had been posting videos with Chanel, who turned two that July, a year ago to cheer people up as she insisted that it ‘made people’s day’.
The family, who run a tyre business, also have three chickens, two dogs - one of whom is called Coco to match the perfume theme - as well as a gecko and some fish.
Sandra admitted she was ultimately overwhelmed with the response she received from the video.
‘The reaction of all social media, it just melted my heart. That many people got involved and they found my parot basically. I just want to thank the whole world.’
