Instagram sensation Lyric ‘Yhung’ Chanel dies after battle with cancer
ATLANTA, Georgia (KTRK) – Celebrities and supporters filled social media with heartfelt messages following the death of Instagram sensation Lyric “Yhung” Chanel.Lyric Chanel lost her battle after years of fighting brain cancer and anaplastic ependymoma.In Nov. 2020, Lyric underwent surgery in the Texas Medical Center to remove a tumor, according to her GoFundMe page. Unfortunately, the tumor grew back and spread to various parts of her brain just two months later. That’s when doctors told her there was nothing else they could do.The young social media star was acknowledged by celebrities such as Beyonce and rapper Cardi B for her strength, resilience and undeniable optimism during her fight with cancer. She also developed a special bond with Houston rapper Trae Tha Truth, who she affectionately called her uncle.Lyric and her family grew her social media presence by documenting the good and bad experiences she endured as a child battling a chronic condition. She also shared her love for fashion and style with her followers.In a video posted to Instagram by photographer Marcus Owens, Lyric was seen dancing, laughing and smiling while getting glammed for her first-ever photoshoot. Owens said Lyric was the strongest person he had ever met.Funeral arrangements have not been set.
Young Houstonian battling cancer inspires Cardi B and Trae tha Truth
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Rapper Cardi B is showing respect to a young lady from Houston who is battling brain cancer and anaplastic ependymoma.Lyric has suffered with health problems for quite some time. She’s undergone four brain surgeries, according to her Instagram. She’s now receiving treatments at the Texas Medical Center.In the video, Cardi B said she’s happy to see Lyric dancing, being goofy and making Tik Tok videos even though she’s sick.Other celebrities, such as Trae tha Truth, have also taken a major role in the girl’s life. Trae visits Lyric and her family often, even accompanying her to hospital visits while allowing her to call him ‘Uncle Trae.‘Recently, Trae asked for prayers for the young girl after she began losing her vision. He said that still doesn’t stop her from enjoying life to the fullest.

Beyoncé has helped brightened the day of one young fan who’s battling cancer.
On Saturday, Lyric Chanel — who, according to an Instagram account run by her family, is ″fighting brain cancer/Anaplastic Ependymoma″ — posted about the sweet arrangement of white flowers she received from the Grammy winner, as well as kind words of encouragement straight from the star.

″When the Queen Bey sends you flowers 😱😱😱," read the post’s caption. ″Thank you so much @beyonce Lyric was so shock to get mail from you and she said Beyonce is the Best!!! We love you so much and she hopes to one day meet you💕💕💕💕💕💕💕"
The bright floral gift came days after Lyric shared throwback clips of her preschool-self adorably singing along to Beyoncé’s 2011 hit song, ″Love On Top.″ In her message to Lyric, Beyoncé said she was ″moved" to see how her music inspired her through her health battle.

Smiling next to the gift from Beyoncé, Lyric said in a subsequent post that she’s still gleeful about the kind gesture. ″Still admiring my flowers they smell so sweet and today I got 2bags from a friend 💕💕💕💕 Happy Sunday to you all," she wrote.
On Sunday, a new video was shared to Lyric’s Instagram account featuring the young girl looking displeased when it was time for her to get out of the car while she was in the middle of jamming to a Beyoncé song.
