Should change the title to a “A decade on the list”
-
I hope you guys didn’t source this particular watch from Horology House. Otherwise, I would check the watch out at Rolex boutique if I were you😅😉
-
people watching this will definitely buy this product and their opinions are unbiased
-
In short “It was like wearing a Rolex”
-
God it’s an absolutely gorgeous piece.
-
Love you stuff Hodinkee, big fan!
-
Just wanted to let you know that during Jack’s narrative of the Daytona history, the stuttering sliding watches (1:11 and onwards) made me kinda nauseous. :(
-
I have mixed feelings about this watch. My brain says its nice but my heart says its not worth the hype.
-
Love Hodinkee, but they may as well test ride a unicorn for the week.
-
I’d Iike to walk into a Rolex dealer and buy that new Daytona for $13150 and walk out of there the same day. Chances are that won’t happen. In fact by the time it comes into the store with my name on it it’ll cost me $20,000 new and it’ll be 5 generations later than when I originally walked in the store.
-
I’d listen to Jack read the phone book.
-
I agree, its a great watch with awesome histort, I adore the stainless steel versions and the new ceramic models, but indeed as you said its still a watch - one that I wouldnt pay over retail for :)
-
Rolex is like a Kim Jong Un of the watch world and the horology press are like North Korean journalists- just smiling and praising the dictator. Nobody dares to say anything bad about Rolex!
-
Love The Panda one of my favourites of all time.
-
Can’t afford it so I get a platona, love the hefty and blue dial
-
I like this watch, video , Jack and channel. I don’t hold all the hype, the high auction price, anything else against this watch. This watch will survive any and all negativity and will improve with time. If ya can afford one I highly doubt you would ever regret owning and enjoying it. Thank you Jack, a week well spent.
-
Agree that it’s overrated. The whole business of “scarcity”, wait lists and preferred customers is a huge turn-off. Granted for those with the wherewithal and clout get one, good for them. It’s a pretty watch for sure, but not worth the time, money & energy it takes for the average enthusiast to acquire.
-
4:54 Am I the only one who noticed the rolex crystal etching brought out by the contrast of the second hand?
-
There’s a list to get on the list and once on the list, its 10 years minimum. I couldn’t get on the list to get on the list and I just bought an Oyster Perpetual for my wife! I have a Speedmaster already so just bought the white Seamaster. That’s close enough to the white Daytona and no hoops to jump through to get it. The two satisfy my favourite aspects of the Daytona for me just fine!
-
Pity you can’t buy one. Good sales tactic, a watch store with no watches.
-
I wonder if the future Daytona collector auctions will be as profitable in view of the proliferation of super replicas of the current version of this watch. I think a lot of the hoarding being done by speculators today is going to end in tears.
-
Just a staggeringly beautiful watch!!
-
Jack you’re the best
-
Always the Paul Newman story, while the Rolex Daytona has been used in aviation and even was used on Space Shuttle Atlantis, mission STS-34 in October 1989 #MoonwatchUniverse
-
get the two tone version if u dont wanna pay a huge premium
-
I know it would likely never happen, but I would love to see Rolex release a Daytona with a cleaner dial by simply removing “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified”. Even move that verbiage to the case back by engraving it in a concentric fashion. It would make an amazing watch even that much better.
-
What a fantastic video about this truly iconic piece!
-
Cosmograph on the dial in 1963
-
seems to have been part of the bid
-
to become NASA’s official watch
-
of the space program.
-
Man these Pagani design homages are getting crazy, If Rolex keeps it up they can be a big name one day
-
Excellent!.. I quite enjoyed this
-
Nice, on my hit list :)
-
I’ll never understand the hype for Rolex’s watches. Very simple models, movements, complications, ok design, good materials… But wtf
-
So other than being handsome, the overall pedigree seems to pale in comparison to others. The use of both cosmograph and Daytona are obvious plays to catch up to the status of Heuer and Omega. Would be nice to see some contrarian views on Rolex. I own several and appreciate them immensely, but would be interesting point of view.
-
This video is awesome!!!!
-
You can pick up a good condition Longines Marine chronograph with the same valjoux 72 as the Paul Newman for about five thousand bucks
-
Should’ve teamed with TGV and Adrian
-
Wowww, beautiful:)
-
To me nothing beats a platinum day date. Anyone with me?! That being said, this is a stunning piece. Only a Patek world time could beat this watch for it’s sheer gorgeousness.
-
Jack just being Jack! Great video.
-
In the guitar world, which has obvious similarities as well as obvious differences, our equivalent is the ‘59 Les Paul.
-
It’s not right or wrong, it just is. Market forces, Clapton, Keef, Bloomfield, Moore, etc. etc. etc.
-
I wanted a gold Daytona but could only afford a bi-metal gmt master ii….. i hope one day I will have one
-
…we need a “lightweight” Daytona… brushed steel bracelet, no shine, fewer words in the dial, steel bezel…
-
My unicorn watch. Would love to have that! Great video and history about the Daytona.
-
I bought my Stainless Daytona with a white dial back in 2015. The newer generation of watches have really priced me out from this luxury category.
-
I’m a chronograph fanatic, but the Daytona’s small sub dials are hard to read. So it’s a poor chronograph for someone who actually loves chronographs.
-
Great video!!!
-
Do you guys plan on uploading in 4k anytime soon? Would be awesome.
-
amazing watch!
-
Every time someone talk about daytona HorrorlogyHouse will kick in 😆. Great watch if you can find one retail but thats another horror story.
-
Would love to see a throwback version to the 60s. 👌🏼
-
…so beautiful
-
That crown reflection on the second hand at 4:54 is insane.
-
Not the most legible of watches so not for me. Interesting to see all the hype over models like this 🤔
-
That’s the Dink and the Rodent uploading two seemingly random Daytona reviews in the same week. Something’s afoot.
-
Now that’s was some practical video. Beyond marketing and daily driver. Loving the channel
-
Is it beautiful or is the price that makes it look awesome … ? Does it compare with vacheron overseas 2 chrono Steel ?
-
IT MAKES YOU FEEL “DRESSED” & YOU FEEL LIKE A SUPERHERO WHEN YOU ARE WEARING IT!
-
amazing
-
Great video!!!! An iconic model
-
Fortunate to have bought one from my Rolex AD after 2 1/2 year wait. $12,400 and was promptly offered $19k. It’s my favorite watch and I wear it regularly. A fabulous watch.
-
Wow, the newer the model the more words printed on the dial. Hit pause to read the novel. I kind of like the watch, though.
-
Just checked Chrono24. This damn thing costs 10 grand more than a new Jaeger perpetual calendar. Sorry, but f— that.
-
Awesome review and history of the Rolex Daytona. The Rolex Daytona is a beautiful collectible and heirloom watch.
-
Jesus that’s a beautiful watch! The “Panda” 🐼
-
My daily love it to pieces!!
-
Jack Forster needs to do ASMR videos…
-
I would encourage you as a market leader in the watch news industry, to invest in decent sound equipment. It steals legitimacy from the video when the dialogue becomes distant-sounding and reverberant on a simple medium closeup shot. Otherwise very good video
-
Now that´s nice timing haha, I dropped my review yesterday :)
-
Nice presentation. Anyone knows the source of the background music?
-
THE BEST👍👍👍
-
Instead of waiting list, I get a vintage GMT/Sub
-
Actually, it’s 116500. Not 11650 😂
-
There is a flaw on the 3 minute marker. Still worth it tho
-
love that watch
-
you left out that it is really hard to actually read the time on the damn thing.
-
The current design still looks dated from the 80s to me
-
Where do you measure that to get the 40mm, I’ve tried and tried and tried never seen 40mm
-
Rolex Daytona for the 1960s go for over 39000.00. Will they go up anymore.
-
I passed on one in the early 70s bought a two tone Datejust instead The mistakes we make !!
-
how is ceramic better than gold bezzel?
-
i love daytona!
-
this just inevitably create more demand…
-
Nice vid! But it’s like everybody is making this week a video about the Daytona…
-
I had a 6265 ‘Big Red’ for about a year. I think i got caught up in the hype, because after I’d had it a while I realized I didn’t actually like it that much.
-
They’re nice enough, but I don’t understand who is paying close to $30k for one of the modern models when there is just so much else out there for that price.
-
Some people cannot differentiate between a watch review and an AD!
-
very nice review of a lovely watch
-
damn that’s a perfect watch
-
116500*
-
I appreciate the history of that watch and its size, but prefer the Speedy. Its dial specifically. The only gripe with the Speedy Professional is the size and L2L length. If Omega could fix that, The Speedy would be a perfect companion.
-
You can get a vintage El Primero that looks axactly like a Daytona for less than £4000….And its original, has the correct number of intrasecond indicators, an inhouse chrono with all the cred and none of the pose……even screw down “oyster” ones, theres lots on C24
-
Honestly if you want a racing panda chrono just get a speedmaster racing. These simply are not worth the money the premium is ridiculous
-
Do you guys think the explosion of value has something to do with the media exposure, coverage, of the watch?… In some part?
-
Has anyone mentioned the flaw in the painted 3 minute marker?
-
Hardest watch to obtain, and is a true legend!
-
…we need a “lightweight” Daytona… brushed steel bracelet, no shine, fewer words in the dial, steel bezel…
-
daytona or a submariner?
-
Not really a “week on the wrist” piece, this video.
-
What’s is like to wear a Daytona? That is kind of a pompous question. I wear mine everyday and i don’t notice anything. The only time I know I’m wearing the Daytona is when someone asks me about my watch or says ‘hey hice watch’
-
When are you guys going to be on the Scottish Watches podcast?
-
Was it the Zenith Calibre 4030 as printed around 1:50 or the 4130 in 1988?
-
Hard to get at the dealer, yeah. Chrono24 easy to find at a profiteer price… sigh.
-
One you’ve seen it you can’t unsee it - the lug widths are different between the left and the right!
-
Great watch but can’t afford anyway..even you can afford you can’t access to it unless you paid way over retail price or have good relationship with AD..
-
The price made the piece lost its practicality, people started putting them in the safe and wait for it to go up in value. Ironic and dumb idea!
-
I like the black much more. Both are iconic
-
This is a watch juwelers used to give for free as an incentive for another purchase. So, the hype nowadays is crazy. If you want a superior Chronograph look at Zenith’s sellection. Rolex used Zenith’s chronograph movements for a long time in the past.
-
It’s rather disappointing that you did not mention that the second track is wrong on the Daytona’s dial. The movement is beating at 28,800 vph, or 8 ticks per second. Yet second markers are divided by 5 slots instead of 4. So when you use the chronograph function, you actually can’t read precisely where the second hand stopped and tell what lapse of time… you timed. So long for having a precise chronograph.
-
My favourite Daytona video
-
man dont lie the grand seiko dpring drive is better and more accurate.
-
Seemingly visible flaws on the dial on the minute 3 marker and near the right subdial 29 marker? Flaws under a loupe are one thing but the naked eye is different.
-
Video starts at 6:11
-
Rolex
-
TOP Mundial
-
Lisbon Portugal
-
This is a bad watch (super poor legibility, bad design forcing to UNSCREW to launch the chronograph…lol), but damn its GORGEOUS. What an attractive watch.
-
If the bezel shatters if I knock it, it’s not superior.
-
I Love the Daytona
-
Is it worth the 29,000 AUD?
-
Missed out the important piece of history (or fable) concerning why the word Daytona was added……Allegedly, Rolex were in competition for selection as the choice of watch for NASA astronauts. They lost to Omega….and so their ‘Cosmograph’ with the outer limits reference was remarketed to appeal to the world of motor racing where the Daytona name was inscribed. Apparently it sold quite poorly…..hindsight huh?
-
There are better watches for better money than Rolex. Unfortunately many people who buy Rolex don’t want a watch. They are not watch enthusiasts. They want Rolex. Most of them are either flippers or posers.
-
I was reading up on Omega speedmaster and decided to read up on Rolex Daytona for comparison and immediately I was blown away by how Daytona is such a beauty. The quality of this watch from its movement up to the exterior are simply out of the world. When I looked back on speedmaster, it looks mediocre to me. Speedmaster is a nice watch but no way it could take on Daytona. Daytona is just simply at the higher end on the ladder. I dare to say Daytona worth every penny spent.
-
By far the best Rolex I have owned, it’s the simplicity, elegance, the allure and provenance.
-
Love the video, but I wish influencers like you would be more critical with Rolex and the unavailability of their steel sport watches.
-
Not really a week on the wrist episode ….. until 6:21
-
6:13: “What’s it like to actually wear?”
-
See below for his answer
-
Have 2 of them. Love them. No one even notices which is the BEST feeling ever!!!…lol
-
This is the watch i want to buy.
-
It looks like a Parnis!
-
I got a Daytona fever and the only cure is more Cara bell. 🛎
-
i prefer the older version
-
Probably going to retain its value, at least, for the foreseeable future… well unless a super massive meteorite hits the planet I think you’re kinda safe.
-
Excellent video! I was very fortunate to get one from my AD at the end of 2019 when 2 others before passed on the watch.
-
To be honest, yes, I would like one. But when you think about the price….well, accuracy isn’t really their strong point is it, compared to my G-shock radio controlled and solar powered watch.
-
I bought an early, battered Sea Dweller for £250 around 1985, spent some money getting it right, and then sold it for £850 in 1994 - when it was losing around 4 or 5 mins ‘per day’! Do I wish I still had it? definitely yes, certainly not for it’s timekeeping ability, but because it’d now be worth about £7 - 8k, thats the ‘only’ reason. They’re just hugely overpriced in my opinion.
-
the model that everybody wants that is virually impossible to get from your AD unless you pay an arm and a leg at the open market. Even with the Covid situation…the price is still sky high
-
I think the two tone version is amazing and gives you gold with more value!
-
Jack could care less about this watch….
-
I like the TT better. Why the steel ceramic is so hyped is a mystery to me.
-
0:48
-
Thank you for confirming
-
it would be a better watch if it is not hyped
-
Good luck buying one at a dealer .
-
I love Rolex, own three, but the Daytona just doesn’t do it for me… Is it just me? Not saying it’s not a nice watch though. Good video.
-
I will be getting one soon from my local AD. The wait is almost over.
-
why is that patek ticking like a 40 dollar watch?
-
I don’t get it. I think that if it weren’t so sought after, people wouldn’t care about it.
-
Is it necessary to reference the Paul Newman auction especially when decrying the hype around the modern watch? The modern Daytona bears little resemblance to the Newman so why mention it if you don’t want to feed into the hype?
-
who said its hard to get? grey market plenty!
-
What i really dig about Rolex is the perfect sizing.. It’s always perfect!!
-
This or Overseas Chrono?
-
The reference is 116500LN not 11650LN
-
I think it’s one of the most overrated watches on the market. I like it. Don’t love it.
-
Daytona or El Primero? Hmm.. I don’t know why I asked this question..I dont even have money for any of those two LoL
-
All that and not even a date window. One simple feature I use often on my watch .
-
Measured in centuries
-
With so many almost identical fakes out there it makes me wonder if this watch is still worth it
-
wear it one week. post on ig. then flip it on chrono24
-
Am I the only one who really likes the old panda dials (6239,6240,6262,6264) but not really care current models?
-
There’s a certain charm of the old models that is not quite present on the current ones imo…
-
Jesus Christ, the Hodinkee guys couldn’t possibly have less charisma. These videos are so hard to…….watch.
-
Theres so much “emperor wears no clothes” with lux watches.A rolex is worth maybe a grand in labor and materials, the other 10-15k is lip service. They are nice watches but get a knock off and save yourself some cash. You also wont have to pretend that your watch is something other than some springs.
-
Would have helped had you given the weight and comparative weight between that and say the Sub or Explorer 1.
-
7:18
-
Help me.Ben.. I listened to the pontiff sold all my Rolexes and a house, and now I’m homeless stuck with unsellable 5 identical Patek’s, a bucket of KFC and I’m still phucking depressed….I need to get rid of my Patek 5196.
-
I think its going to get some real competition now with the release of the new Zenith El Primero Chronomaster Sport and the new Speedmaster Professional.
-
means fuck the hype, and it is not worth the overly priced in grey market right?
-
If I had the money I would never buy that watch a nice Patek Philippe maybe horrible design🙈
-
Ok let me go put my name in the waiting list. Hopefully 3 years.
-
All good except the screw down chrono buttons makes this non functional imho. Is it not possible to water proof push down buttons?
-
Price 35k 😆
-
I don’t know Sid farkus was such a watch enthusiast, I thought his expertise was more in women’s lingerie.
-
Is this a real one?
-
Paul Newman had the best wife! She gave him Daytona as a gift, with an engraved message on the back: DRIVE CAREFULLY ME.🤑
-
Very awesome video, last week I purchased the best quality product from replicaclubs..ru
-
You’ve got a great tv voice jack.
-
Can someone please explain why a Omega Speedmaster is that much cheaper?
-
I waited 2 years for mine wanted the white dial but one in black was available and i couldnt resist and am glad i got it
-
How much is it US dollar?
-
I own several Daytona’s and have always been a fan, but the face of the watch (text in particular) is way too busy, take it down to two lines and it would change the whole face and look so much better, its like bloomberg telling you how rich he is…the old dials especially the paul newman dials are much cleaner. Compare this face to say the omega ck2998 which I also own and there is no comparison…i also own the panda daytona and I find it much easier to tell the time… compared the daytona to say their GMT or a Sub it is harder to read the time at a glance, especially the 116520 white dial with the silver inlays…but he fails to mention the most important thing about this watch, and that is it’s versatility…you can wear a daytona with a Tux and you can wear it with jeans….it always looks good and is easy to wear…these video’s should really be more about the experience of wearing and a little less about the hype train…
-
I wear a Rolex but I’ve never been a fan of the Daytona. Too busy, too big and too much going on
-
Legibility is no doubt poor…..for such a nice watch.
-
Time to buy the parnis daytona then
-
Hype Hype Hype…… it is all in the head. If you think double the price is worth it go and buy it. it just is not worth twice its price. Hardly retail.
-
Yeah great but you can’t even buy one. Has Rolex now made a wait list at least? They have created a situation whereby people on the grey market can make more money than Rolex or the dealers themselves.
-
The problem is these are tiny on the wrist unless you have a baby wrist.
-
Case is 38.5 not 40
-
Right now this thing is retailing for about $32,000 in my country in Asia. What a scam.
-
And you were wearing a small fortune as well.
-
Where is the “a week on the wrist” part of the video?
-
I have a white faced oyster Daytona purchased in 2000. I love it, it’s classy and comfortable. But I only wear it on my days off. Sadly I use an Apple Watch on work days for ease of communication with my team.
-
No wait, just buy it resale and never look back.
-
Beautiful watch, the price is absolutely retarded and ya gotta be one to buy it at that price
-
Seiko is by far the number one watch brand in the world without being pretentious. They just work their magic quietly without having to create a persona of something there not. And that is to me the most appealing and most impactful stealth statement that any watch Company may strive to achieve. Even the Rolex crown needs to bow down to the Seiko halo, the watch God of all watches!
-
My only criticism is that for the past few years Rolex has been playing this game with holding back stock. I know why they do it, but it kinda ruins it for me as far as respect for the company. I do indeed respect the product but not the business practices of management.
-
To me a watch is like a piece of men’s jewellery. Most people will have a handful number of pieces and the Daytona is just a perfect all rounder. It looks good, tough as nails and sits well on the wrist. I also like Omega, Seiko, Lange, IWC, Oris….
-
SPEEDMASTER
-
God I am so happy I am not an idiot. I was allocated 116500 in 2018 and flipped it immediately for 17500 EUR. I made 8000 EUR profit and bought a second hand Omega Speedy for 3000 EUR. With extra 5000 EUR I traveled to India for a month and discovered the whole India and its wonderful culture, a truly priceless experience. In a way I am thankful to Rolex for making it happen, because without their marketing as a 24 year old I would never be able to experience India as I did. Plus I have the iconic chronograph on my wrist that brings smile to my face every time I look at it. Oh yes, and my 9500 EUR I converted to USD and on advice for my friend who works in Netflix I put my money into Netflix shares that are now almost 50% up since I bought them in December 2018.
-
This watch represents everything that’s wrong with watch collecting these days.
-
I’ll give you 29,000 AUD
-
Ah look at all these sheep jumping on the bandwagon
-
I showed the submariner and Daytona to my dad who hardly ever wears watches. He loved the submariner and said the Daytona was crap. He was looking at them for the first time. I think the Daytona has to grow on you. Me personally I love them both.
-
The pre 1988 references are simply gorgeous. Everything since has been an ugly, busy mess. The current one looks like some cheap fashion watch.
-
It’s a great watch. Just overvalued AF.
-
Your basically over-paying for what the watch represents. The history, Paul Newman, and all the hype.
-
I love Rolex watches but the Daytona was never my favorite. It’s too busy and never been a fan of chronograph or sub dials.
-
It is an attractive timepiece for sure.
-
I love Jack’s writing but he should not VO a video!
-
One more Rolex video. Just what I needed .
-
I’m a Rolex and Daytona fan and of course I have this exact model, love it. Hope Rolex release the rose gold model with ceramic bezel
-
the dream!
-
Daydate 40 over this anyday of the week. But I’d still pay retail for it.
-
OMG-this is a total marketing video
-
Jacks summation “in other words I was wearing a Rolex” could be a tag line in a magazine ad. Spare yourself and watch something else.
-
Watchfinder’s Daytona videos are the gold standard. This is lazy salesmanship
-
he sounds like mr mobile
-
Well done Jack on humanizing the large, overly detailed, design that speaks more of excess and wealth rather then balance and harmony. Rolex models seem to be approaching the suv sized ethos of some of the other trinity lines but not sure how long they’ll ride the slowly evaporating heritage of their earlier models. Let’s see if there’s still hope for a more elegant approach to their sport watches this year.
-
Hey Rolex - Your artificial scarcity and wait lists means Omega will get my money.
-
I really don’t get the hype. The Speedmaster is so much better looking and way cooler as well. For that kind of money, there are some amazing chronographs out there.
-
STILL DONT GET WHy 😂
-
My Pagani is nicer
-
The silver or plain gold ones look like just a regular watch to me. But the rainbow version has to be the best looking watch ive ever seen. Nught and day difference between the regular version
-
持っとるけど
-
良さがわからへん
-
I am so glad I generally seem to not like what the masses do, whether it be watches or cars, or whatever, so I never have to care one way of the other about the Cosmograph. Movement aside, which I think is great, the looks have never do anything for me. This version with the indices is particularly unappealing, and the lack of a date completely ruins it for me. I love that people swoon over this watch and will gladly get on a waiting list (are you kidding me!) and part with vast amounts of money, while I quietly and happily wear my Blancpain Leman Flyback, with an aftermarket sapphire casebook for viewing pleasure.
-
I got a black one. I want to get a white one now.
-
‘Rolex’ and ‘Chronograph’ should not be together in the same sentence. Looking at the facts and the evolution of the Daytona line, it is clear, this hype is exactly that. Someday somebody will write a book about it, like so many other investor manias.
-
Made of “unobtainum”….
-
As I’ve thought before, I really feel like a “week on the wrist” has kind of lost it’s soul. Although it’s important to recognize the history and physical aspects of the watch (case, dial, movement, etc.), my favorite part of the video was everything after 6:10. In the foreseeable future, I don’t see myself trying on our owning a Daytona (vintage or modern). I’m much more interested in what it’s like to wear it, getting Jack’s personal opinion, how the watch wears, etc.
-
Woot first. Thanks Jack!
-
True story: I walked into my local Ben bridge and always talking watches for a few months they offered me this Daytona and I took it. Yes at retail
-
An absolutely fantastic gem of a timepiece manufactured by a greedy loathsome company that has nothing more than snobbery and hype as marketing tools.
-
The ceramic model is ugly. Bring back the previous version with SS bezel and black dial.
-
cant get it anywhere……
-
The Daytona is too busy and 2 sub registers always look better than 3. Never understood the hype around this watch.
-
Rolex should come with another chronograph…
-
116500LN
-
Never went to the moon, it took rolex 18 years after zenith to have a decent automatic chronograph, why is this watch so wanted? omega has much better and intresting watches. What history?
-
nice ad
-
For style
-
Waste of money. I have the $60 Pagani design pd1644 which looks just like this one (ok so it’s a meca quartz..what it does have is sapphire glass, a ceramic bezel, 100M water resistance, screw down crown and pushers, screw links and made out of 316L steel) . I prefer the silver dial Alpha Daytona though (based on the Rolex 6263).
-
So much hype. I sold mine after a few months of ownership and don’t miss it at all. Fit and finish is nowhere near AP. And Rolex refuses to use an anti-reflective coating on the dial, which frequently makes the watch unreadable. See the video at 0:08 - 0:09.
-
Go for samsung watch 3
-
To be honest I expect more from Hondikee…Pretty Lame
-
Its probably the only current rolex watch really worth getting
-
Fake proof?
-
No date 👎🏽
-
I think, based off your great chronology, that the Daytona was a great watch until 2000 and then slipped in good looks. I think the ceramic bezel is unhelpful, steel way better, and I think ROLEX engraved all around the rehaut is absolutely tasteless and appeals to people who think gold Ferraris are nice. If I had Daytona money to spend it would go on something rather less superficial than a Daytona. A truly over-hyped watch.
-
Grail
-
The most replicated Daytona 😂
-
The brand is becoming a joke, When I like something, I like to walk into a shop and buy it.
-
Still 0 tho
-
Dang, another Rolex story by hodinkee. predictable
-
Oh please
-
Try being a bit original and stop pretending there are only 5 watches worth while
-
Hope you didn’t buy it from the Horology House of Horrors
-
