Kareena Kapoor opens up about ‘difficult’ second pregnancy, says she thought she couldn’t do it
Kareena Kapoor Khan revealed her second pregnancy wasn’t easy. The actor and her husband, actor Saif Ali Khan welcomed their second son Jeh earlier this year. The couple had their first son Taimur in 2016.
The Laal Singh Chaddha star got candid about her second pregnancy during an Instagram Live with Karan Johar. The duo came together to launch her new book, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible.
During the interaction, Kareena revealed that while her first pregnancy was smooth, her second pregnancy was difficult and left her feeling vulnerable during and after the delivery.
“This pregnancy was extremely difficult compared to Taimur’s, which was a breeze. I had loved it, enjoyed it and that gave me the courage to do it again. But this was different. I had bouts where I would sit down and think, ‘I don’t think I can do this, don’t think anything is going to be okay,’" she said.
“It was (also) Covid times. With all safety protocols, we managed to do a lot of shoots. It kept me alive, happy in times that were so difficult. There was this constant fear of what is going to happen, what if I get Covid, my child gets it. There was a lot of trauma in the last trimester mentally, of wanting to step out and do things but still…,” Kareena added.
She added that when she walked out of the hospital carrying Jeh in her hand, she was feeling overwhelmed. Kareena also said that after she returned from the hospital, she would look at herself in the mirror and wonder if she was ever going to be okay. “Being an actor, there is a part of you–it is not vanity, it is about wanting to feel, ‘Okay fine, I am fit and I can be back again on my toes,’” she said.
She added that there was a fear of breastfeeding “because (she) wasn’t getting enough when (she) delivered Jeh.” Kareena also experienced a lot of mental distress and felt her body had stretched. “My feet were feeling like 100 kgs,” Kareena added.

The actor had announced she and Saif were expecting their second child last year. During her second pregnancy, Kareena continued to work, completing work on her upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha with Aamir Khan and also recording her a new season of her talk show, What Women Want.

Latest rumours now suggest that Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan have named their son Jehangir and not Jeh. ‘Jeh’ might just be a short form, but the actual name is ‘Jehangir’. Twitterati is now really offended and has been tweeting against the couple, flooding a backlash.
Kareena Kapoor Khan even was seen indulging in a conversation with Karan Johar yesterday evening. When KJo asked her about the name of their second child, she smiled and answered, “It’s Jeh Ali Khan.” Despite the confirmation, there have been speculations if it’s Jehangir instead.

Kareena Kapoor reveals Saif Ali Khan’s reaction to her reduced sex-drive during pregnancy
Kareena Kapoor revealed that she had lower sex drive during pregnancy and how Saif Ali Khan reacted to the same.
Kareena Kapoor Khan’s pregnancy book titled Kareena Kapoor Khan’s pregnancy bible has now been launched. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the book launch had to be done virtually on social media. She was joined by Bollywood producer Karan Johar. During her live interaction with KJo the actress revealed many unknown facts about her pregnancy journeys.
KAREENA KAPOOR TALKS ABOUT SAIF ALI KHAN’S REACTIONS DURING HER PREGNANCY
Kareena Kapoor often shares with us glimpses of her day with her newborn Jeh and older son Taimur. The actress has opened up about all the struggles and happy moments she had during both of her pregnancies in her book. During her book launch yesterday (August 9), Kareena revealed that her sex drive had dipped during her pregnancy.
“When you are pregnant, people don’t realise the kind of moods, emotions, feelings, what you actually feel about yourself. That’s so important. Some days, I would feel super amazing and sexy and feel ‘oh my God, I am looking so hot with this belly’ and I would feel amazing, and I would tell Saif that or he would say, ‘You are looking beautiful,” she said in her live.
She further continued and said that after the sixth or seventh month she was exhausted and could hardly get up from the bed in the morning.
“But sometimes, it’s just a feeling of repulsion. You are just in a mental state when you don’t know what to think. It’s so important to have a supportive man and most men should not put pressure on their wives to a) look beautiful while they are pregnant and b) feel they are any less. That pressure shouldn’t be there or like this is it, our regular sex life has to be super-active,” she said in the live session.
KAREENA REVEALS TAIMUR’S PREGNANCY WAS A BREEZE
Kareena Kapoor in the same Instagram live revealed that giving birth to Jeh was a difficult task as compared to Taimur. During the Instagram live session, she told Karan Johar, “This time, it was difficult. During the time when I had Taimur, it was like a breeze and that’s why I decided to go for childbirth again. But Jeh was difficult.”
Jeh was born in February 2021, while Taimur was born in 2016.
