Covid-19: Joelinton an idiot for sharing haircut photo, barber says
He pointed out that Joelinton’s visit was part of a photoshoot, which could be allowed under the rules, although the stylist said he “should not have done it” and Joelinton was an “idiot” for putting the image on social media.
Barber Calls Newcastle Striker Joelinton An “Idiot” For Sharing Haircut Picture
A barber who cut the hair of Newcastle United striker Joelinton on Friday has called the Brazilian an “idiot” after he shared a picture of his illegal haircut on social media.
It was confirmed on Friday that the Premier League side would take ‘appropriate action’ after the 24-year-old forward posted and quickly deleted a snap of his new trim alongside stylist Tom Baxter on Instagram.
“We are disappointed by the image shared by Joelinton,” said a Newcastle club spokesperson.
“There are clear COVID-19 protocols in place and the club continues to guide and educate its players on their responsibilities. The club will be taking appropriate action internally.”

Barber shops and hairdressers are not allowed to open as per regulations that started on January 5th.
Baxter, who has a number of famous clients including several Premier League footballers, admits to having cut hair during the lockdown period while based in the Newcastle area.
Joelinton’s visit was part of a photoshoot, according to the BBC, which could be allowed under the COVID rules.

The stylist has explained, however, that he “should not have done” Joelinton’s haircut amid the current lockdown and is “not above the law.”
Joelinton obviously hasn’t got a leg to stand on - but, come on, how many footballers have we seen with ‘lockdown hair’ this season? Everyone looks exceedingly well trimmed to me.

In a recent interview with the BBC he admitted to having cut hair during the lockdown period, saying he had costs to cover.
“Yes it was lockdown and we should not have done it, I should not have done it,” he said. “But I’m not a bad lad and he’s not a bad lad.

“Everyone has probably broken the rules at some point. During the first lockdown everyone took it seriously but now I think people are fed up with it.”
Baxter, who has reportedly spent £20,000 to make his salon ‘COVID secure’, says both he and his clients wear masks during these haircuts while Joelinton has regular tests at Newcastle to prove he hasn’t got the virus.

The stylist says he is expecting a visit from the police in the future surrounding the illegal activity and would “accept what’s handed down” to him as a result.

“I’m not being arrogant or cocky. I know people who have had symptoms and I know people have died,” Baxter says.
Sloppy Joelinton set for costly haircut
Newcastle will take action against Joelinton over a social media post that appeared to show the English Premier League striker breaching lockdown rules.
The Brazil striker posted a picture of himself getting a haircut on Friday, despite barber’s shops not being allowed to open under current restrictions.
Joelinton quickly deleted the tweet but it was noticed by the club, for whom a spokesman said: “We are disappointed by the image shared by Joelinton.
“There are clear COVID-19 protocols in place and the club continues to guide and educate its players on their responsibilities.
“The club will be taking appropriate action internally.”
Awareness of the impact of the illness is acute at the club after an outbreak last month forced the postponement of the Magpies' game against Aston Villa.
The club’s training ground was also closed for a week with several players and members of staff having contracted the virus, including Allan Saint-Maximin and captain Jamaal Lascelles.
Earlier this month, the club determined that Saint-Maximin had not breached any self-isolation protocols after being pictured on social media in a supermarket with a fan.
