Lady Gaga and Adam Driver Reveal First Look at ‘House of Gucci’
Lady Gaga, an Italian girl from New York, has revealed the first look at her transformation into Patrizia Reggiani, Maurizio Gucci’s ex-wife, in the upcoming movie about his assassination.
“House of Gucci,” directed by Ridley Scott, depicts the true story of the downfall of the Gucci family dynasty. Adam Driver is portraying Maurizio Gucci, the former head of Gucci fashion.
Gaga shared a photo on Tuesday of the onscreen couple posing on a snow-capped mountain, captioned “Signore e Signora Gucci,” which translates to Mr. and Mrs. Gucci. Channeling après-ski chic, Driver is donning a cable knit turtleneck sweater and a separate white jacket fashioned around his waist, while Gaga is draped in gold chains and outfitted in all black with a white Cossack hat.
The movie, which is currently filming in Europe, dramatizes the events around the assassination of Guccio Gucci’s grandson, Maurizio. Patrizia Reggiani was tried and convicted of orchestrating Maurizio Gucci’s murder in 1995 after he left her for a younger woman. She served in prison for 18 years, where she gained the nickname Black Widow, before being released in 2016.
“House of Gucci” marks Gaga’s first film role following her Oscar-nominated performance in “A Star Is Born.” Driver has received Academy Award nominations for “BlacKkKlansman” and “Marriage Story.”
Roberto Bentivegna wrote “House of Gucci,” based on the novel Sara Gay Forden novel “The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed.” The star-studded cast also includes Al Pacino, Jared Leto and Jeremy Irons.
The film, set at MGM, is expected to hit theaters on Nov. 24.

Here’s how Lady Gaga is following up her Best Actress Oscar nomination for “A Star Is Born.”
Lady Gaga has debuted an official look at Ridley Scott’s “House of Gucci” on her Instagram page. The first look is a photo of Gaga and co-star Adam Driver in character as Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci, respectively. Directed by Scott and written by Roberto Bentivegna, “House of Gucci” tells the story of Reggiani as she is tried and convicted of orchestrating the assassination of her ex-husband and former head of the Gucci fashion house, Maurizio Gucci. The script is based on Sara Gay Forden’s book “The House of Gucci.” Filming on the project began in Rome last month.
In addition to Gaga and Driver, “House of Gucci” features an ensemble cast that includes Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci, Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci, Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci, and Camille Cottin as Paola Franchi, plus Jack Huston and Reeve Carney. The project is one of two Ridley Scott releases coming in 2021 that will serve as his follow-ups to 2017’s “All the Money in the World.” Scott’s other project is “The Last Duel,” starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. That film, now in post-production, will open in October, followed by “House of Gucci” in November. All release dates are subject to change given the ongoing pandemic.
“House of Gucci” is notable for being Lady Gaga’s acting follow-up to “A Star Is Born,” her feature acting debut that netted her universal acclaim and an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. Gaga won the Oscar for Best Original Song thanks to her blockbuster anthem “Shallow” off the movie’s original soundtrack. Gaga’s other acting credits include a cameo in “Machete Kills” and the lead role on “American Horror Story: Hotel,” which won her a Golden Globe award.
Driver, meanwhile, is coming off an Oscar nomination for Best Actor last year thanks to his performance in Noah Baumbach’s “Marriage Story.” The actor is reuniting with Baumbach for “White Noise,” co-starring Greta Gerwig. “White Noise” will go into production later this year after Driver wraps “House of Gucci.”
“House of Gucci” is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 24 via United Artists Releasing (the distribution arm of MGM). Check out the first look photo below, courtesy of Lady Gaga.

Ridley Scott‘s House of Gucci is now filming in Italy, and set pics being taken by onlookers were being leaked online on Monday. The solution: fight fire with fire by releasing an official image from the film. The image comes courtesy of star Lady Gaga and shows Gaga and fellow co-star Adam Driver in costume, posing in front of some picturesque mountains. It looks like a vacation pic from a very good-looking couple. See the full House of Gucci first look below.
Behold: the best photo ever taken. Here is a very happy Adam Driver and a very chic Lady Gaga posing in between takes on House of Gucci, the latest film from the always-busy Ridley Scott. The film is based on the true story of Patrizia Reggiani, who was tried and convicted of orchestrating the murder of her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci, former head of the Gucci fashion house. The stacked cast also includes Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci, Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci, Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci, and Camille Cottin as Paola Franchi. Jack Huston and Reeve Carney are also on board. On March 27, 1995, Maurizio Gucci, heir to the fabulous fashion dynasty, was slain by an unknown gunman as he approached his Milan office. In 1998, his ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani Martinelli – nicknamed “The Black Widow” by the press – was sentenced to 29 years in prison, for arranging his murder. Did Patrizia murder her ex-husband because his spending was wildly out of control? Did she do it because her glamorous ex was preparing to marry his mistress, Paola Franchi? Or is there a possibility she didn’t do it at all?
House of Gucci is one of several upcoming Ridley Scott pics. Late last year he wrapped filming on the historical epic The Last Duel, which also stars Driver. It’s currently scheduled to open on October 15, 2021. And after he gets done with House of Gucci, Scott will move on to Kitbag, a movie about Napoleon that stars Joaquin Phoenix. He also keeps talking about making more Alien movies, so who knows, that might happen too. In short, Ridley Scott is keeping busy.
