First look at Lady Gaga and Adam Driver in Ridley Scott’s Gucci movie

Lady Gaga has shared the first look at her new film exploring a murder that rocked the Gucci fashion dynasty.

In House Of Gucci, Gaga will portray Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, played by Adam Driver.

Maurizio was the grandson of Gucci’s founder and was murdered in 1995 by a hitman hired by his former spouse.

House Of Gucci, Gaga’s first film since her Oscar-nominated turn in 2018’s A Star Is Born, is directed by Sir Ridley Scott and also stars Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Jared Leto and Jack Huston.

In a first look at the film shared on Instagram by Gaga, she and Star Wars actor Driver are seen dressed extravagantly against a snowy backdrop.

Gaga, 34, wears a black turtleneck jumper and a fur hat while draped in gold jewellery. Driver, 37 and also an Oscar nominee, smiles in a chunky jumper and oversized glasses.

She captioned the post: “Signore e Signora Gucci.”

Filming for House Of Gucci has been taking place in Italy. Gaga was in the country when her two beloved French bulldogs were stolen at gunpoint in Los Angeles in February.

They were found after the singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, offered a 500,000 dollar (£360,000) reward.

In a case that captivated Italy, Gucci, at one time the head of the revered fashion house, was shot and killed by a hitman outside his office in 1995.

Reggiani, a socialite and high fashion personality, was convicted of orchestrating the murder. In an attempt to get the verdict overturned, her two daughters argued a brain tumour had affected her behaviour.

She was jailed in 1998 and eventually freed in 2016. In an interview with the Observer newspaper, Reggiani said: “If I could see Maurizio again I would tell him that I love him, because he is the person who has mattered most to me in my life.”

House Of Gucci is due to be released in November.

Lady Gaga and Adam Driver look great together in the recently released first look from their upcoming film ‘House of Gucci’ by director Ridley Scott.

It is Lady Gaga’s first acting project since she created a buzz with her stellar performance in ‘A Star Is Born’ with Bradley Cooper. Gaga shared the first look from ‘House of Gucci’ since they continue to film for the feature as of now in Europe.

Scheduled to hit the theatres on November 24, 2021, the film will chronicle the life of Italian socialite Patrizia Reggiani’s orchestration to assassinate her ex-husband in the 1990s, head of the Gucci fashion label, Maurizio Gucci.

Pop star Lady Gaga, 34, plays Patrizia Reggiani while Adam Driver, 37, plays the Gucci head.

In the picture shared, Lady Gaga and Adam Driver’s characters strike a handsome pose while she wears bling and a not-to-miss winter headwear while Adam is seen in a chunky sweater and glasses.

Meanwhile, ‘House of Gucci’ also stars Al Pacino, Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Camille Cottin, Jack Huston and Reeve Carney.

Ridley Scott and Adam Driver will also be seen collaborating on another feature, historical drama ‘The Last Duel’ starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. It arrives in theaters October 15.

Here’s how Lady Gaga is following up her Best Actress Oscar nomination for “A Star Is Born.”

Lady Gaga has debuted an official look at Ridley Scott’s “House of Gucci” on her Instagram page. The first look is a photo of Gaga and co-star Adam Driver in character as Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci, respectively. Directed by Scott and written by Roberto Bentivegna, “House of Gucci” tells the story of Reggiani as she is tried and convicted of orchestrating the assassination of her ex-husband and former head of the Gucci fashion house, Maurizio Gucci. The script is based on Sara Gay Forden’s book “The House of Gucci.” Filming on the project began in Rome last month.

In addition to Gaga and Driver, “House of Gucci” features an ensemble cast that includes Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci, Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci, Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci, and Camille Cottin as Paola Franchi, plus Jack Huston and Reeve Carney. The project is one of two Ridley Scott releases coming in 2021 that will serve as his follow-ups to 2017’s “All the Money in the World.” Scott’s other project is “The Last Duel,” starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. That film, now in post-production, will open in October, followed by “House of Gucci” in November. All release dates are subject to change given the ongoing pandemic.

“House of Gucci” is notable for being Lady Gaga’s acting follow-up to “A Star Is Born,” her feature acting debut that netted her universal acclaim and an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. Gaga won the Oscar for Best Original Song thanks to her blockbuster anthem “Shallow” off the movie’s original soundtrack. Gaga’s other acting credits include a cameo in “Machete Kills” and the lead role on “American Horror Story: Hotel,” which won her a Golden Globe award.

Driver, meanwhile, is coming off an Oscar nomination for Best Actor last year thanks to his performance in Noah Baumbach’s “Marriage Story.” The actor is reuniting with Baumbach for “White Noise,” co-starring Greta Gerwig. “White Noise” will go into production later this year after Driver wraps “House of Gucci.”

“House of Gucci” is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 24 via United Artists Releasing (the distribution arm of MGM). Check out the first look photo below, courtesy of Lady Gaga.
