Coco avant Chanel, 2009

This is a film-biography, film-drama, dedicated to the early life of the trendsetter Coco Chanel, her childhood, and her youth. Director Anne Fontaine wrote the screenplay based on Edmond Charles-Roux’s book Chanel and Her World. There were no problems with selecting actors: Anne Fontaine claims that she was shocked by the similarities between Audrey Tautou and Coco Chanel: the same huge dark eyes, the same habits, a smile. And Audrey herself says that when preparing for the role, she was struck by the similarity of her character with the character of Chanel.
